The Esoteric K-03 XD sits next to the top of the main Esoteric SACD/CD player range. The K-03 xD features battleship build quality. Disc spinning is via the mighty VRDS Atlas mechanism. Conversion is done by the brand new Master discreet DAC.
The Esoteric K-03 XD is a substantial machine weighing in at over 28 kg. A substantial amount of this weight is down to the massive Atlas VRDS transport that the K-03 XD uses. Another contributing factor is the toroidal transformers that supply the different sections of the player. Having different power supplies for different sections of the player provides greater isolation from noise on the circuits that really need it and gives the player state-of-the-art performance.
This DAC can also be utilised by other components via the digital inputs on the rear of the K-03 XD. These inputs could be from a streamer or other digital source component.
The player can be upgraded further by the addition of an external Master clock such as the G-01X or G-02X. This moves the performance of the player on further.
