Chord Electronics

Made in the UK, Chord Electronics was founded in 1989 by John Franks. The products are beautifully built and finished in sturdy anodised aluminium casework offering a unique look and sound.

For the first 15 years or so, Chord were known for their power amplifiers with Franks supplying the BBC and Abbey Road studios. They were one of the first companies to adopt switch-mode power supplies in their amplifier designs. This made Chord Electronics products very efficient, allowing for more power out of a product of a given size.

Their ranges are built around different form factors to suit every need from the tiny Mojo DAC to the giant Ultima amplifiers.
