Chord Electronics Huei MM/MC Phono stage
Chord Huei switchable MM and MC phono amplifier.
The Chord Electronics Huei is their latest phono stage. It is a great sounding, compact flexible phono stage. It can be set to suit any MM or MC cartridge using four buttons on the front. These change colour to indicate the current setting. The Huei comes with a card that shows which colour is needed for each setting. As a result Huei is quick and easy to set up.
The Huei is one of two components in the Qutest range. The form factor is very compact but the products feel substantial due to their clamshell aluminium casework. The Huei has a single ended input on RCA connectors and both balanced and single ended outputs. Output on the balanced connection is slightly higher than on RCA.
MM input gain is adjustable between 21 and 42dB in 8 steps.
MC gain is adjustable between 49 and 68dB in 8 steps.
If you are using an MM cartridge the input impedance is fixed at 47k. If you are using an MC cartridge the impedance is adjustable between 100 and 3700 ohms in 12 steps.
