The Esoteric F-05 is the second model of 4 in the Esoteric integrated amplifier range. It offers a great range of inputs and outputs and 120 WPC into 8 ohms and 240W into 4 ohms The substantial amplifier weighs in at over 32Kg and inside is effectively dual mono construction with the exception of the transformer. The power supply is based around a custom 940 VA EI core transformer. This feeds 4 separate diode bridges and then 8 substantial smoothing capacitors. Each power amp channel is based around a huge heatsink and rather than using tracks uses large bus bars to transfer power more effectively. Each power amp channel has substantial venting in the case to allow cool running.
The Esoteric F-05 has a built in switchable phono stage. It will work with both Moving Magnet and Moving coil cartridges. Line inputs can be connected via RCA or XLR connectors. There is also a pre-amp output on RCA and XLR connectors. The font panel of the F-05 features a set of tone controls, these can be bypassed if required. The F-07 can also drive a set of headphones via the connector on the front panel. It is a very capable integrated amplifier.
