The Kudos Cardea Super 20A is a medium sized 2 way floor standing loudspeaker with stunning looks and sound.
Every aspect of the Cardea range screams quality. The drivers are modified top of the range SEAS units from the Crescendo range. The cabinets are lovingly made in Yorkshire in a range of sumptuous real wood veneers. The passive crossovers are all low order designs using the highest spec components to ensure as little gets in the signal path as possible. Final assembly and test and assembly is done in County Durham along with all R&D.
The New Cardea A models differ from most conventional loudspeakers as they can be converted from passive operation to active use by simply removing a set of link bars on the rear of the loudspeakers. Active operation does require additional investment in the supporting electronics but the improvements of active operation need to be heard to be truly appreciated.
For anyone out there looking for an SBL, Allae or SL2 replacement the Kudos Cardea Super 20A should make for a very compelling listen. It can do scale, dynamics and has oodles of subtle detail which gets right to the heart of the music. Put the Super 20A at the very top of your shortlist.

All four Cardea series models feature our Crescendo K2 fabric dome tweeter, a development of SEAS’ superb (and justifiably costly) Crescendo unit re-engineered exclusively for Kudos. The mid/bass drivers are unique to each model.

LOW-ORDER CROSSOVER AND MINIMAL
DESIGN FOR A PURER SOUND
The purer the signal, the truer the sound. A Kudos loudspeaker preserves a clean and clear audio signal by favouring a minimal design with our trademark, low-order crossover. The Cardea Super series’ superior quality components are tailored specifically for Kudos to stringent tolerances. They include Mundorf’s MResist Supreme resistors and air-core inductors, and ClarityCap’s unique CopperConnect technology capacitors.
FIXED BOUNDARY BASS REFLEX LOADING
Since bass plays such a powerful role in how we hear music, our floorstanding Cardeas pay particular attention to delivering superior sound at the all-important lower end. The Super 20A’s fixed boundary bass reflex loading is key to a more agile, nuanced, textured and detailed bass reproduction.

Like the Titan series, our ‘Super’ Cardea models are configured to allow simple by-passing of the internal crossover for active operation with leading electronics including Linn Exakt, Devialet Expert, Naim SNAXO and Exposure VXN. Active operation opens up a wider upgrade path and enables a variety of performance and personalisation enhancing capabilities.
