The Linn Selekt DSM range is a modular streamer/DAC/Preamp/Power amp. Just like the LP12 the design is configurable to customer requirements. All models feature a streamer, DAC, phono stage and pre-amplifier as standard. Beyond this the system is configurable by adding plug in boards. There is an option to upgrade the DAC to a Katalyst version. Add a power amplifier module to make the Selekt into a one box system. More plug in modules will be available in the near future.
As with all Linn products the Selekt DSM range features stunning build quality inside and out. This is because Linn manufacture all casework in the factory in Glasgow using the latest CNC equipment. For example, the casework labels are screen printed so finish and durability is improved. The units are flexibility without it being at the expense of performance. The power amplifier modules will drive most loudspeakers comfortably. Selekt comes with space optimisation system as standard. This corrects room effects from speakers that are not in ideal positions within the room. Because of this unwanted room effects(usually bass peaks) will no longer be an issue.
This version of Selekt is fitted with the higher performing Katalyst DAC and built in power amplifier module.. You can connect it directly to a pair of passive speakers. In addition to this it has spare slots which will facilitate future upgrades when they become available. To conclude the Selekt is a future proof product that can grow as your system requirements grow. It can also be upgraded by adding the higher performing Katalyst DAC module.
