Naim Nait XS 3
Naim Audio Nait XS 3 stereo integrated amplifier.
The NAIT XS 3 is the second level NAIT (Naim Audio Integrated) single-box amplifier solution. The Nait XS 3 features 5 line level inputs and one subwoofer output. Two of the line inputs have Din sockets for optimal sound when using Naim source components. On the front panel it simply has selector switches, a volume control and a headphone socket. This minimalist approach is typical Naim Nait philosophy, spend the money on things that give the best performance at the price point. It is this approach that gives the Naim Nait XS 3 such a high level of performance for the money.
Inside the Nait XS3
Inside the Nait XS 3 it is easy to see how the 70W per channel specification doesn’t tell the whole story. The heart of the product is the power supply. Naim use large toroidal transformers because they have less stray magnetic field than a frame transformer. Naim split the power supply into sections because it gives better performance. Each uses a separate winding on the transformer and separate capacitors.. As a result better isolation is achieved. Because of this the Nait XS 3 delivers massive dynamic power when the music demands it. A high quality motorised potentiometer made by Alps handles the volume control. No other company makes amplifiers in quite the same way.
This attention to detail is what gives the Naim amplifier range such a distinctive dynamic sound. It is quite capable of driving most loudspeakers with ease and we recommend you get in touch if you would like to hear any Naim product. This is the mid point of the Naim integrated amplifier range. There are two more integrated amps in the range, the Nait 5SI and the Supernait 3.
