Overview

The Naim Supernait 3 is the top NAIT (Naim Audio Integrated) amplifier solution. The Supernait 3 features 6 line level inputs (DIN and RCA). It also has one subwoofer output.  Supernait 3 now features a built-in Moving Magnet phono stage. The front panel simply has selector switches, a volume and balance control and a headphone socket. This minimalist approach is typical Naim philosophy. They prefer to spend the money on things that give the best performance at the price point. It is this approach that gives the Naim Supernait 3 such a high level of performance.

In addition to the phono stage, the circuitry has been redesigned to improve on the SuperNait 2. It features upgraded power amplifier sections.

Inside the Naim Supernait 3

80W per channel specification doesn’t tell the whole story. The heart of the product is the power supply. Naim use toroidal transformers because they reduce stray magnetic field. The Supernait 3 transformer is massive. It has 7 separate windings supplying different stages of the amplifier for maximum performance. The Supernait 3 delivers massive power when needed. No other company makes amplifiers in quite the same way Naim do.

This attention to detail gives the Naim amplifier range such a distinctive dynamic sound. This the top model in the Naim integrated amplifier range. There are two more integrated amps in the range which are the 5SI and the XS3.

The Supernait 3 is a future proof product. You can add a Hi-cap DR to boost the performance further,. You can then add a power amplifier such as a NAP250 DR as and when funds will allow.

The reference quality SUPERNAIT 3 represents over 30 years of the pinnacle of this accumulated knowledge. It is both the most sophisticated integrated amplifier ever created and a classic Naim Audio product, shot through with the soul of the original, iconic NAIT.

SUPERNAIT 3 combines an 80W power amplifier with six individually decoupled input sockets. It borrows advanced technology from Naim Audio’s flagship pre-amplifier, the NAC 552. It employs the latest Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) circuits in its power supply. It sits right at the forefront of Naim Audio amplifier technology.

Technology & Craft

SUPERNAIT 3 includes a Class A pre-amp output stage. This doubles as a headphone amplifier . Ceramic heatsink technology minimises capacitive coupling between the chassis and output transistors. This helps optimise sound quality. Inputs are each individually decoupled and hand-wired to minimise noise and interference. Internal switching employs ultra-low-noise, constant current sources . These are derived directly from the electronic design of the flagship 552 pre-amplifier.

Set at the core of every SUPERNAIT 3 is a custom-designed toroidal transformer. This features seven separate windings. It can be further upgraded with one of an external HiCap or SuperCap power supply.
