Overview
The Naim Supernait 3 is the top NAIT (Naim Audio Integrated) amplifier solution. The Supernait 3 features 6 line level inputs (DIN and RCA). It also has one subwoofer output. Supernait 3 now features a built-in Moving Magnet phono stage. The front panel simply has selector switches, a volume and balance control and a headphone socket. This minimalist approach is typical Naim philosophy. They prefer to spend the money on things that give the best performance at the price point. It is this approach that gives the Naim Supernait 3 such a high level of performance.
In addition to the phono stage, the circuitry has been redesigned to improve on the SuperNait 2. It features upgraded power amplifier sections.
Inside the Naim Supernait 3
80W per channel specification doesn’t tell the whole story. The heart of the product is the power supply. Naim use toroidal transformers because they reduce stray magnetic field. The Supernait 3 transformer is massive. It has 7 separate windings supplying different stages of the amplifier for maximum performance. The Supernait 3 delivers massive power when needed. No other company makes amplifiers in quite the same way Naim do.
This attention to detail gives the Naim amplifier range such a distinctive dynamic sound. This the top model in the Naim integrated amplifier range. There are two more integrated amps in the range which are the 5SI and the XS3.
The Supernait 3 is a future proof product. You can add a Hi-cap DR to boost the performance further,. You can then add a power amplifier such as a NAP250 DR as and when funds will allow.
