The Rega Elex Mk4 is latest generation Elex from Rega. It now sports a high performance DAC, moving magnet (MM) phono stage and a headphone amplifier. The Rega Elex Mk4 is the next model up from the Brio. The Elex Mk4 takes full advantage of the larger case size and the benefits that it brings to offer increased performance.
The Elex-R amplifier is able to deliver 72W per channel into 8 Ohms and 90W into 6 Ohms. The extra case size means that it is much more thermally efficient and also features a larger transformer in the power supply.
The extra space means that circuit layout can be further optimised and this results in a big jump in performance and power output. It uses a combination of both leaded and surface mount components as both types of components have their advantages in different parts of the circuitry. This is a lot of amplifier for the money and thanks to its clever design also sounds great.

Bringing your music to life
The Elex MK4 is capable of driving difficult loudspeakers with ease and will integrate perfectly into any audio system by offering a wider range of connectivity options. In addition to the line level, digital inputs and a high quality moving magnet phono stage, Â you will also find Pre-out and Record Out functionality alongside a headphone output. Special attention has been paid to the selection of key audio components. Discrete circuitry, high quality relays, polypropylene capacitors and Sanken output transistors are used throughout the design.
