The Rega Elicit Mk5 is an integrated amplifier that sits between the soon-to-be-released Aethos and Elex Mk4. It features a high spec moving magnet (MM) phono stage a high performance DAC and an integrated headphone amplifier. The Rega Elicit Mk5 initially looks similar to the Elex Mk4 but really it’s just the layout that is similar . The Elicit Mk5 takes full advantage of a range of upgraded components and casework which increases performance.
The Elicit Mk5 amplifier is able to deliver 105W per channel into 8 Ohms and 162W into 4 Ohms. The amplifier is much more thermally efficient because of the extra space inside and greater amount of heatsinking. A larger toroidal transformer in the power supply gives greater dynamics. Many critical components upgrades mean better performance and power output. The Elicit-R features a combination of both leaded and surface mount components. This is a lot of amplifier for the money and thanks to its clever design also sounds great.

The all-new Elicit MK5 stereo integrated amplifier is designed and built to the highest standard. Housed in a custom case to match the rest of the Rega range, the new MK5 builds on previous Rega designs by using our multi-award-winning Class A/B power amplifier circuit to deliver a powerful 105 W per channel into 8 Ω loads (127 W into 6 Ω). Rega engineers have designed a new Rega DAC circuit offering digital connectivity and greater integration with a variety of other products. They have taken great care to incorporate a high-quality MM phono stage and the headphone input has been configured such that the speaker switching is performed by the output mute relay to avoid obstructing the signal path.
