The Rega Elicit Mk5 is an integrated amplifier that sits between the soon-to-be-released Aethos and Elex Mk4. It features a high-spec moving magnet (MM) phono stage a high-performance DAC and an integrated headphone amplifier. The Rega Elicit Mk5 initially looks similar to the Elex Mk4 but really it’s just the layout that is similar. The Elicit Mk5 takes full advantage of a range of upgraded components and casework which increases performance.
The Elicit Mk5 amplifier delivers 105W per channel into 8 Ohms and 162W into 4 Ohms. The amplifier is much more thermally efficient because of the extra space inside and the greater amount of heatsinking. A larger toroidal transformer in the power supply gives greater dynamics. Many critical component upgrades mean better performance and power output. The Elicit-R features a combination of both leaded and surface mount components. You’ll get a good amplifier for your money and thanks to its clever design, it also sounds great.
