The Rega Elicit-R is an integrated amplifier that sits between the soon to be released Aethos and Elex-R. It features a high spec moving magnet (MM) phono stage and an integrated headphone amplifier. The Rega Elicit-R initially looks similar inside to the Elex-R but really it’s just the layout that is similar . The Elicit-R takes full advantage of a range of upgraded components which increases performance.
The Elicit-R amplifier is able to deliver 105W per channel into 8 Ohms and 162W into 4 Ohms. The amplifier is much more thermally efficient because of the extra space inside and greater amount of heatsinking. A larger toroidal transformer in the power supply gives greater dynamics. Many critical components upgrades mean better performance and power output. The Elicit-R features a combination of both leaded and surface mount components. This is a lot of amplifier for the money and thanks to its clever design also sounds great.
