The Rega Planar 6 turntable is the fourth tier on the Rega turntable range. The Planar 6 features many improvements over the Planar 3 turntable. Because of this it has a significant increase in performance over the 3. The Plinth on the Planar 6 is lighter and stiffer. The interface between arm mount and main bearing is extremely stiff and free of resonances.
Rega have reduced vibration from the motor because they use an external adjustable power supply. Each power supply is tuned to make sure vibration is minimised and speed stability is maintained. A two piece float glass bonded platter improves the performance because it increases the flywheel effect. This aids speed stability and pitch accuracy.
The Planar 6 also boasts an aluminium inner platter and new higher performance drive belt. These improvements all add up to class leading performance. For rhythm, timing and subtlety, we just love the Planar 6. It is capable of reproducing a wide range of music. There’s nothing that you can throw at this deck that it won’t handle with ease and confidence.
We will fit the Planar 6 turntable fitted with any cartridge of your choice. The Rega Ania is an obvious starting point and complements the deck well. The Planar 6 comes as a stand alone deck or bundled with the excellent Ania and Exact cartridges.
The Planar six is available in Matt graphite finish.
